Dear Membership
and Interested Individuals:
I offer a warm welcome to
all of you as the Georgia Chapter of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM) embarks on its 11th
year. Many of you have been members since the Chapter’s inception, and
some of you are just thinking about becoming involved. Whatever your situation,
I hope you will find this group offers good information, member benefits, networking opportunities, and a good time.
The Chapter has truly been
graced with a strong board this year. The board is comprised of the wisdom of
CHMM veterans and the fresh energy of new members to create an intelligent, experienced, and highly energized group. We are emphasizing the importance of membership participation this year, as the committee
chairmen and chairwomen will greatly increase their efficacy with the contribution of others.
I sincerely hope all of you will contribute by participating on committees, writing an article, and/or submitting your
suggestions and ideas to the board in order to improve the chapter and your certification!
My goals for 2005 are the
following: 1) Improved information flow for the membership through the newsletter and web site, 2) A HAZWOPER Class offered
at a greatly reduced rate to the membership, 3) Continued recognition for our Chapter’s accomplishments, 4) Ample networking
opportunities for meeting participants, 5) Increased chapter size, 6) Strengthening of our certification through lobbying
or other efforts, and 7) To have fun!
The Board members are excited
about the upcoming year, and look forward to working and talking with all of you.
Best regards,
Brian Cook
2005 GA ACHMM Chapter President
